First of all, the reason the Yankees lost was because they relied too much on certain players and had a thin roster. The Dodgers had a deeper roster. Secondly, many Yankees players had an "I'll decide" or "I, I, I" attitude. All of the Dodgers players were committed to team play, saying "Let's just get on base and keep the ball going." I think this difference in awareness of team play was also the cause of the Yankees' three consecutive errors. This shows that a team cannot win just by using money to attract good players.
Actually the yankees were very patient at the plate and drew a lot of walks. To me the biggest factor has to be the difference in quality of pitching. Lack of fundamental baseball, lack of hustle. Yankees get what they deserve. You don't respect the game and hustle and play fundamental baseball this is what you deserve. 6 outs for one inning in the big leagues is ridiculous, let alone in a world series.
It’s a 50/50 even chance for everyone. The problem is when we lose 1% efficiency, the other side increases by 1%. It’s the doubling effects. Athletics work all year round to improve 1% performance.
Judge and ohtani were the stars expected to shine. The difference really was ohtani had a whole team that was there when he wasn’t and judge had some players in different games that showed up and not at the same time.

If the baseball is fielded properly and the Pitcher and Fielder misjudge or miscommunicate and fail to cover first base, the official scorer shall not charge an error.
"Let's all pretend this was an amazing achievement by the Dodgers! Yes, they had an enormous payroll and by FAR the best roster, but...let's pretend that they won because of their will and their never-say-die attitude." Realistic take that is bad for sports talk radio and bad for baseball: Major league baseball is kind of stupid. The richest team won. That's the typical result. Even the second-highest by a mile payroll team would have had to have a lot of breaks to pull it off. Same with Padres. If the rich team screws up, someone else might win.
Big Papi had a better series hitting .688 with a 1.948 OPS. Also Billy Hatcher had the most insane statline in modern baseball in a world series. Hitting 750 with a 2.050 OPS in the 1990 world series. No disrespect to Freddie Freeman but Sandy Koufax had a more valuable world series performance than him and every other player, pitching 24 innings and giving up just 1 run in three starts in the 1965 world series with a 0.75 WHIP. Sandy Koufax is still the GOAT of October.
The Yankees really messed up X 3 but credit for the Dodgers for getting hits to start the inning and putting the ball in play to put the pressure on the defense to execute, and once the door was open, 2 more hits. It only happens if the Dodgers are putting the ball in play, against a pitcher who had gone 4 no hit innings. Terrific determination and professional hitting and running.
I think the Judge and Volpe plays are blunders that can happen to anyone... sort of forgivable. Cole not covering first and Rizzo not trying to hustle on the play is absolutely unforgivable especially considering that it SHOULD'VE bailed Judge and Volpe out for their previous errors. Just brutal!!
Ohtani instills confidence in these Dodgers eventhough he was pretty quiet in the playoffs. Explain to me why the Dodgers in the playoffs for 12 straight years but never won a championship(ignore covid 2020) until Ohtani came. Explain to me why the Yankees collapsed due to an error from Aaron Judge in the 5th inning. Ohtani brings confidence to his teammates. Judge is a choker. Both Judge and Ohtani were pretty quiet in post season, but only ohtani gave his teammates confidence to win it all.
Volpe's play wasn't exactly routine. I don't think he practices that throw to 3rd ever. But it required the least amount of effort vs throwing across his body to 1st or 2nd
Judge's career changed on that dropped ball. He can hit 58 homers again next year, and it won't matter. He will NEVER be the same. By the way, Cole should have covered 1st...PERIOD, NO EXCUSES. Doesn't matter because he WIIL NOT be a Yankee next year.
Aaron Judge is the biggest choker in sports history. He is worse than Kershaw,Harden, and A-Rod as a choker. I hope Yankees trade him in the off-season.I can't imagine Yankees winning world series as long as they have Judge.
They need to win with 2 years to avoid tying longest title drought in Yankees history of 18 years. Fail to win one by 2037, longer curse than the Bartman Curse thanks to those interfering fans in game 4 that stated the Capobianco curse.
Know who doesn’t make those errors? Bernie Williams, Derek Jeter, and Andy Pettite in the 90s. Yes, they were high-paid and occasionally error-prone. But when the whole thing was on the line they were lockdown!
With all do resp, I'm a dieheart Dodger fan, but it's not Judge or Torres fault, if Cole covers 1st base 0 runs score. It's all on Gerrit Cole, he got lazy and took it for granted that it was an easy play for Rizzo, but it's the most practiced play for pitchers, there is no excuse for that mental error. My Dodgers won this series for Fernando Valenzuela and the parade will take place on his birthday, Go Dodgers.
You can have a stacked lineup and not even make a postseason. e.g. 2007 Tigers lineup. I'd rather have a solid core of starting pitchers and relievers than a jacked lineup any day of the week if I'm going to contend in October.
For all the people complaining about the Dodgers payroll and saying they brought the World Series, let me remind you that there are a core of Dodgers players (8, 9 if you want to count injured Kershaw) who were key members of the 2020 Champs. That core did not include Freeman, Teoscar, Othani or Edman. When you have a core of players and a manager used to being in a playoff atmosphere, it makes a difference. Like Colin said, experience matters. Go blue 💙💙💙
Definitely bought not earned you went and got mookie after he beat yall in 2018 and then get freddie in 2022 after he beat yall and let seager walk who is your best franchise shortstop and 2020 world series mvp because you didn’t wanna pay him but yall will pay ohtani because he’ll defer his salary
@Gman1298 And what does any of this have to do with "buying" a World Series? Any competitive sports franchise is going to do everything in their power to bring in championship level players. That includes making trades and spending money on free agents. At the end of the day, the players have to produce on the field. Dodgers are just doing what they need to do to win, and it's working. All that matters is getting that trophy.
Gerrit Cole was walking into the dugout on that grounder to first. You can watch him stop point and take a step perpendicular to the base. He thought the inning was over without him having to do anything more.
I Am SO MAD....Yankees Should Have Never Put Themselves In That Position But I Do Know 1 Thing: THEY ALL BETTER COME BACK NEXT SEASON VERY HUNGRY TO WIN IT ALL!!
When you have a MVP type player ( Aaron Judge ) help you make the playoffs and then lose pretty much without him ( played terribly ) shows you how valuable he really is. Yes he didn’t perform, however the World Series pressure from the expectation to perform is something that he’ll learn from and be better for the future .
Maybe Cashman should start looking for baseball players instead of prima donna bats. You know the other stuff; fielding, running, throwing, basic defensive and offensive tactics, and most of all hustle and desire. The team is flawed, always has been, money only covers so much and when you come up against another big spender your advantage is gone.
Isn’t it peculiar when Freddie rolled his ankle and couldn’t buy a hit throughout the NLCS, guess what we heard? Absolute silence. No cries of "Oh, Freddie is a complete flop for not showing up!" Nope, instead he was serenaded with soothing whispers of empathy and understanding. Yet here comes Ohtani, the unsung hero of game 1 of the World Series, who snagged a clutch double in the 8th inning, setting the stage for Freddie’s memorable walk-off that basically won the Dodgers the WS. And then, oh no-a shoulder dislocation in game 2, leaving Ohtani one-handed. Suddenly, a guy playing with what amounts to a mechanical arm is supposed to knock it out of the park? Well, color me amazed. Apparently, "shoulder dislocation" actually means "you must perform superhuman feats without complaint" in whatever parallel universe these causals reside. So now, despite heroically saving the Dodgers from getting swept by the Padres with his clutch 3-run homer, having an outstanding NLCS performance with a 1.184 OPS, .364 average, .818 with RISP, leading with 9 runs, reaching the bases 17 times, and massively contributing to game 1 of the WS with his series-changing clutch double, Ohtani is now put on trial by the armchair critics, branded as a "postseason choker". Remarkable! Who knew injuries qualify as failures when you’re not Freddie? Our dear Freddie, however, gets a lovely exemption from expectations when injured but Ohtani? Oh, spare us the details about swinging with one arm, he just needs to put on a show, right? Their logic is baffling.
To be fair to both Ohtani and Judge, it was their first World Series ever. Soto, Freeman, Betts had been there before. Plus ohtani got injured and judge did hit a hr.

@@taguirre7052 dodgers had to get mookie from Boston after he beat yall in 2018 and got his own ring😂 you should be grateful
@@taguirre7052 A true Red Sox fan would NEVER root for the Yankees...
Dodgers are a great all around team. With depth.
Mental mistakes by the Yanks! Dodgers were on their game! Congrats Dodgers. I LOVE LA!
Walker had 1 day rest
I can't believe the talking heads all say only on 2 days
Is confidence another word for shoulder injury that ive never heard before?
Remember 50% of Ohtani is still better than 100% of most guys.
The title should be what went right for the Yankees. They were not a W.S. team and should be happy that Houston and Baltimore got knocked out.
Super fun take calling. Love the Freddy reference. Started laughing out loud. Good take. Thanks for sharing this morning.
BINGO!!! Cole too lazy to run to 1st!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
First of all:
Not covering first base and failing to hustle is NOT AN ERROR
If that Garrett Cole play was scored an error, it was scored incorrectly
if not an error what was it?
@@gregdahlen4375 / It was eventually scored a hit / and according to Baseballs Rules Academy: Rule 9.122
The Official Scorer shall not charge an error if the pitcher fails to cover first base on a play, thereby allowing a batter-runner to reach first base safely. If the baseball is fielded properly and the Pitcher and Fielder misjudge or miscommunicate and fail to cover first base, the official scorer shall not charge an error.
"Let's all pretend this was an amazing achievement by the Dodgers! Yes, they had an enormous payroll and by FAR the best roster, but...let's pretend that they won because of their will and their never-say-die attitude."
Realistic take that is bad for sports talk radio and bad for baseball: Major league baseball is kind of stupid. The richest team won. That's the typical result. Even the second-highest by a mile payroll team would have had to have a lot of breaks to pull it off. Same with Padres. If the rich team screws up, someone else might win.
Freddie Freeman greatest of all time World Series performance
Big Papi had a better series hitting .688 with a 1.948 OPS.
Also Billy Hatcher had the most insane statline in modern baseball in a world series. Hitting 750 with a 2.050 OPS in the 1990 world series.
No disrespect to Freddie Freeman but Sandy Koufax had a more valuable world series performance than him and every other player, pitching 24 innings and giving up just 1 run in three starts in the 1965 world series with a 0.75 WHIP.
Sandy Koufax is still the GOAT of October.
All runs in the 5th innings with 2 out crazy’s divine intervention I say.
The Best take on the World Series I have seen, as of yet, on youtube.
Who's on first? Yankees playing thier Abbot and Costello defense.
Definitely not Cole LOL
What's on second? I don't know, THIRD BASE!
Good one 🤣🤪
I can tell you what went wrong with the Yankees, they got to comfortable with that one win and Aaron's little ole hit.
The Volpe play was not routine but I see your point
The fact is the Yankees need new Management !
Dodgers and Yankees have won the same amount of world series since they move to Los Angeles Yankees only won more in black and white TV
2020 counted and we were literally cheated out by the astros in 2016. We actually have three but whatever, i’ll take two.😡
Total team victory by the Doyers. Exceptional coaching by Dave Roberts. Well played sirs! 🫡
Freeman hit a single, and then Teo knocked him in. How was Freeman's run unearned?
The Dodgers were clearly the better team and played like it.
I don’t get why they don’t give the Yankees a participation trophy.
Only 2 explanations describe NY, (1) They really are very well coached and (2) they just didn’t want it bad enough. Pick one or both case closed
Volpe's play wasn't exactly routine. I don't think he practices that throw to 3rd ever. But it required the least amount of effort vs throwing across his body to 1st or 2nd
1:44 - who is Muky Betts?
😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmaoo
Why is everybody getting on cole???? Rizzo literally couldve ran to 1st🤦🏻♂️
I think Rizzo was too far away from 1st once the ball spun away from the bag. Mookie probably would've beat him to the bag...
He looks incapable of moving fast
@@JoseRamirez-es8vx right, a hefty guy with little movement
Daaaaaaa Yankees Choke
Fundamental baseball…..any ball hit to the left of a pitcher, pitcher runs to first.
Nightmare on 161st st line was crazy 🤯🤯😂
MLB got Ohtani his World Series
Whenever the Yankees win a post season series, it's only against the AL Central.
The Yankees are World Series champions….of the AL Central. 😂
Yankees don't need another WS they already have 27.
Worse than Harden? Let’s slow down lol it’s debatable though.
No one cares about your excuses on living the past, players, and wins. Ya got destroyed and bow down to the LA Dodgers.
cole was great but he has to be at 1st base and get the out you jut have too
6:40 chip on the shoulder, shohei's shoulder 😂😂
With all do resp, I'm a dieheart Dodger fan, but it's not Judge or Torres fault, if Cole covers 1st base 0 runs score. It's all on Gerrit Cole, he got lazy and took it for granted that it was an easy play for Rizzo, but it's the most practiced play for pitchers, there is no excuse for that mental error. My Dodgers won this series for Fernando Valenzuela and the parade will take place on his birthday, Go Dodgers.
Yankees trying too hard to win. “ move slow but fast.” John Wooden.
"Be quick, but don't hurry" is what Mr. Wooden said.
Bro LA wanted to win at home and New York blew it lol
No La Dodgers wanted to destroy the Evil empire " who suck" and their dirty fans in NYC.
Yep too many mistakes led the Dodgers back in the game that proved to be costly for the Yankees.
It was my son's ghost that caused all those errors. He's a big-time dodger fan RIP son. Love you 🥰
Maybe my dad’s ghost assisted your son’s ghost. My dad was a huge Dodger fan, RIP Dad
As a father I can’t imagine… thank your son. He absolutely played a part
Love the Dodgers but the line up is too stacked. Preferred the days of bellinger, pederson, Taylor, puig and seager
Go blue 💙💙💙
I would also add that even if they did "buy" it, it doesn't matter. Every team does it. That's the game.
@@ansonjackson6254 you could spend a ton of money and not win a series, it's how you spend the money
Yankees had the highest payroll btw in 2024
Gerrit Cole was walking into the dugout on that grounder to first.
Dodgers are a better team all-around team than the Yankees.
The guy just injured himself!
He carried that team and after game 2 injury the team carried him back 🎉 Dodgers♥

Just all around embarrasing for the Yankees, saying this as a fan.
Success has a thousand fathers, but failure is an orphan!
The things that happen in this game shows why Sports and Vegas (gambling)should not be connected.
To be fair to both Ohtani and Judge, it was their first World Series ever. Soto, Freeman, Betts had been there before. Plus ohtani got injured and judge did hit a hr.
There is no dispute
